Prostate Cancer Early Warning Signs
Prostate cancer symptoms will affect one in 9 men throughout their lifetime. The prostate is a walnut shaped gland located directly under the bladder. It surrounds the urethra, which is the primary method for the bodily functions of urination and semen elimination. Cancer on the prostate gland can lead to dysfunction in urination, and a discomfort in the surrounding areas, making it a very serious condition that needs to be promptly addressed.
Here are the early warning signs of prostate cancer:
1. Painful urination
With the natural process of aging, there are natural pains that will occur. This doesn’t mean that it’s prostate cancer, but it could be depending on the frequency of pain over a period of time. Trouble urinating due to other factors, and the burning of prostate cancer pain are two distinct things. The more frequent you feel the pain, the more likely there may be a problem with your prostate.
2. Frequent urination
Never ignore excessive bathroom trips. We all are able to distinguish between how many bathroom breaks are too many. One should effectively know their normal frequency of breaks, and then compare it to the symptoms. If you feel like urinating every thirty minutes to an hour, there may be a problem other than drinking too much water. Moderate the amount of liquid you drink, then test and see if there is still frequent urination.
3. Loss of bladder control
Incontinence is not restricted to old people. As we age, the muscles used to extricate the waste from our system may degrade and lose functionality. However, this usually happens at older ages. If you’re decently young or middle aged and are losing control of the bladder when awake or asleep, this can be a serious sign indicative of prostate cancer. Any numbness or tingling can also be present during this loss of control.
4. Blood in urine
Discerning the color of urine is important to detect any internal bleeding of the prostate that may be occurring. Light yellow is the right color, dark yellow means you need more water, and orange or even dark red in some cases can be a warning sign to look out for. This can be tricky because the amount of bleeding depends on the hue.
5. Frequent urge to urinate
There’s a peculiar feeling one might have while dreaming where you need to urinate, so in the dream you go, but you still have to urinate. That feeling of never being satiated or relieved for a long period of time can be likened to this constant feeling you need to urinate. This can be a serious symptom of an enlarged or swollen prostate gland or cancer warnings.
