Hodgkin’s disease is also known as Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it is the cancer of the lymphatic system. This type of cancer can affect people of any age group. Stages of Hodgkin’s disease
The Hodgkin’s disease is observed in four stages, which are described below in detail:

Stage 1
This stage is considered as an early stage of Hodgkin’s disease. At this stage, the cancer is observed in only one region or area of the single body organ in one lymph node region. For treating this stage of Hodgkin’s disease, you have to go through two to four sessions of chemotherapy. Radiotherapy is another option to treat this stage of Hodgkin’s disease.

Stage 2
This stage is considered as the locally advanced stage of this disease. At this stage, cancer has spread to other close regions of the lymph area on the same side of the diaphragm. The diaphragm is the thin muscle that separates the abdomen and the chest and it is present beneath the lungs. This stage of Hodgkin’s disease is treated by the two to four cycles of chemotherapy. Stage 3
This stage is considered as the advanced stage of Hodgkin’s disease. At this stage, the cancer cells have spread to a larger area of the lymph node and hence, it has spread to both below and above the diaphragm. Stage 4
This stage of Hodgkin’s disease is considered the most crucial stage. At this stage, cancer has spread outside the lymph nodes to other parts of your body. This stage of Hodgkin’s disease is treated with six to eight cycles of chemotherapy.
